Obituary of Vincent J. Addesa

Vincent J. Addesa, Jr. passed away peacefully Monday October 14, 2013 after spending his last years at Regency Grande in Dover. He was 84. Vince was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea during the Korean War. Vince was an active resident of Vailsburg Newark who worked as a teacher of English and History and School Counselor at West Side High School. He also was the West Side football team's faculty manager and ran the summer recreational program for the City of Newark. He and his family moved to Toms River in 1972 where he was a counselor at Freehold Reg. High School and Marlboro High School until he retired in 1989. Vincent gloried in teaching many many children of Newark and Toms River to play the piano. Vince was an accomplished musician who always kept music in his heart for his entire life. Vincent is pre-deceased by his parents, Vincent J. Addesa, Sr. and Mary Addesa of Newark, his wife Anna DiBlasi-Addesa in 1999, his sister Lillian Addesa, his brothers Frank, William and Jack Addesa and most recently his brother Emil Addesa of West Caldwell. Vincent's surviving relatives include his only son, Vincent J. Addesa III and his wife, Robin; his granddaughters Lauren Tomasetti-Salomon, Joey-lyn Addesa and Erica Addesa; his sister-in-law Constance Addesa and many many nieces and nephews.
