We were deeply saddened to hear of the loss of such a beautiful person, both inside & out. Shannon was our son's teacher for the last three years, and not only did she impact our son, she made our lives different as well. The introduction to the Best Buddies program is one that will never be forgotten. Shannon will be missed by all.

Steve and family,
I am so sorry. Shannon was such a caring, giving, selfless, supportive, beautiful person. I met her at the Summit YMCA while working with her there in 1994 and I was honored and lucky to have her as a friend. I loved her positive fun spirit and attitude, always smiling! I was so happy she could spend many weekends with me in Ocean City, MD. I will always treasure and cherish the years of fun we had together and was honored to have her as a bridesmaid in my wedding.
Words can't express how sorry I am. I am also so sorry I won't be able to attend her Life Celebration but will be thinking of her and all of you, and send my love, prayers and deepest sympathy. Rest in Peace, Shannon. I will miss you but you will forever be in my heart!

Shannon was my two brothers' and my nanny for several years, and she no doubt played a role in making me who I am today. She was always kind, fun, down to earth, fair, playful, sincere, and sweet. She showed fantastic patience and empathy in particular for my youngest brother, who has autism and remembers her fondly. I see that she went on to continue helping others throughout the rest of her life, during which time I'm sure she continued with the same grace and decency that she showed to my family and me. I'm sorry for your loss.

To everyone who loved Shannon - which is everyone who ever met her - my deepest sympathies. I first met Shannon in my role as an assistant principal at WH when interviewing her (with the principal) for a special ed. position. We knew right away she was perfect for the job and boy, were we right. WH has really wonderful teachers and Shannon was the best of the best. She has touched countless lives in such positive ways and her impact on the world is endless.

Steve - I had the opportunity to know Shannon pretty well when she tutored my autistic son, Tommy (who was also her student), when he broke his leg. She came to our house many times and we had such great conversations. I also remember when she told me she met you. She was so happy and I was happy for her - and you. Shannon was a special person. She touched many lives in such a positive way. So many of us loved her for that. So, Steve - and Shannon's family - know that her life was well lived and she was an angel to many people and many families. Godspeed Shannon.

Shannon was one of the teachers in my general ed class at the beginning of her teaching career. She was a bright and vibrant person who loved her students unconditionally. I was blessed to watch her dream of best buddies come to life and the joy it brought to so many of her students. She was a gift to the students and they adored her. She will be missed. My continued prayers for her soul and for her family.
May all the souls of the faithful departed Rest In Peace.

I miss her already. Shannon was such a warm and kind spirit. I can recall the only time I ever became angry with her was when she would continue to do for someone who had taken advantage of her. She just wanted to serve, and do, and please. Shannon's love for Mexican food bound us together and we often sought different places in which to satiate our endless need for beans, cheese and meat. :) Aside from my husband, Shannon was the first person I told that I was pregnant, and I told her over a nice meal of beans, cheese and meat. We helped each other move in and out of our various apartments over the years and helped each other through some trying times. Shannon helped me learn how to "be a mom" during my early weeks of motherhood that I found to be difficult. She was truly a person who is called the "salt of the earth." I miss her. I wish her family and friends comfort in the extraordinary memories she made with them.
