Obituary of John M. Canfield

John "Jack" Canfield of Landing, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia surrounded by his loving family. He was 71 years old. Jack was born on May 7, 1946 in Landing, NJ to the late Charles and the late Mary (Strowbridge) Canfield. He was proud of the fact that he was a lifelong resident of Landing, NJ. Jack was a maintenance mechanic at Adams Metal in Ledgewood, NJ. He was a NY Yankee and NY Giants fan, he enjoyed country music and gambling at the casinos but most importantly he loved to spend time with his family. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Stella (Connelly), his son, John, his sisters, Diane Canfield Marion & her husband, James and Debra Canfield and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harry, Charlie and Craig. Jack's Life Celebration will include a memorial gathering to be announced by the family in the future. All services were entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ. Jack was the recipient of donated organs 11 years ago and he felt very strongly about supporting organizations who were committed to the "Gift of Life".
