Obituary of Joanne M. Passerini

Joanne M. Passerini of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 60 years old. Joanne was born on September 21, 1956 in Irvington, NJ to John Mason and the late Barbara (McIntyre) Mason. She resided in Hopatcong, NJ for the past 30 years and prior to that, she lived in Cranford, NJ. Mrs. Passerini was a former customer service representative with Verizon in Roseland, NJ. She was a past member of the Hopatcong Board of Education and a longtime parishioner of St. Jude's RC Church in Hopatcong. Joanne enjoyed watching soap operas, cheering for the Mets, Giants and NY Rangers, decorating for the holidays, bingo, playing computer and card games but most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her loving family. Joanne is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Rocco, her daughter, Dana Marie , her son, Bryan John, her father, John Mason, her sisters, Donna Mason and Patricia Tierney, her brother, John Mason, her mother-in-law, Caroline Passerini and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Barbara Mason in 1997. Joanne's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday, July 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Thursday, July 13th at 10:00 am at St. Jude's RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ 07843. Family and Friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Thursday morning. Joanne will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
