Obituary of Forrest James Sutton

Forrest James Sutton, 78, of Hopatcong, known by his family and friends as "Jim" passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday August 22, 2017 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover with his family by his side. Born in Lincoln Park on September 5, 1938 to the late Winfield and Wealtha (Stevens) Sutton, Jim has resided in Hopatcong his entire life. He served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. Jim worked as Parts Manager at Ayers Chevrolet in Dover for many years until his retirement in 2004. Jim was a dedicated volunteer Fireman with the Hopatcong Fire Department Defiance Engine Co. #3 for 57 years and was a member of their Exempt Firemen's Association. Survivors include his wife, June (Grant), daughter, Cathy Marrash and husband, Dave, a son Robert Sutton, four grandchildren, Jennifer Havelin and husband, Joe, Michael Marrash, Robert Sutton, Jr. and Emily Sutton, one great grandchild, Olivia Havelin. Jim was predeceased by a son Forrest, Jr. in 1963, as well as, a brother and two sisters. Jim's Life Celebration will include viewing on Friday August 25 from 4-8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Fireman's Service will be offered Friday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Fireman's honors and last call will begin Saturday August 26 at 9:00am from the funeral home.
