Obituary of Robert F. Rankin

Robert F. Rankin, 78, of Hopatcong, passed away on Wednesday October 25, 2017 at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in Morris Plains.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 25, 1939 to the late Harold and Dorothy (Zimmerman) Rankin, Bob resided in Hopatcong since 1969. He worked as a Metal Lather for Local #46 Metallic Lathers and Reinforcing Ironworkers in New York City. Bob volunteered as an usher at St. Jude's Church in Hopatcong and delivered for Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Northwest New Jersey Chapter of HOG.

Bob was predeceased by a granddaughter, Christine Warner.

Survivors include his wife Loretta (Fitzpatrick), six children, Robert Boots, Michael Rankin, Lauretta Warner and husband, David, Roberta Rankin, Christine Rankin and Patricia Callaremi and husband, Donald, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister Carol Rhodes and many nieces and nephews.

Bob's Life Celebration will include visiting on Sunday October 29 from 2-6 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday October 30 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ.
