Obituary of Eleanor Sorbara

Eleanor Sorbara of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Regency Grande Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dover surrounded by her loving family.   She was 99 years old.  Eleanor was born on April 2, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anthony and the late Accursia (Maenza) Palagonia.

Mrs. Sorbara worked as a seamstress in several manufacturing plants.  She resided in Hopatcong, NJ for the past 60 years.  Eleanor was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and doing crossword puzzles.

Eleanor is survived by her devoted sons, Angelo, Jr. (Gail) and Tony (LouNelle), her cherished grandchildren, Stephen, Christina, Claudia, Glenn and Michael, her great-grandchildren, Christian, Samantha, Alyssa, Julianne, Michael, Joseph and Stephanie and her great great grandson, Tristin.  She was pre-deceased by her husband, Angelo and her grand-daughter Laura Kimble in 2002.

Eleanor’s Life Celebration will include visitation on Thursday, November 2nd  from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.  There will be a funeral mass immediately following the visitation also on Thursday at 11:30 am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive in Hopatcong, NJ.   Eleanor will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ.  All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.  For memorial donations, please consider the Alzheimer’s Charity of one’s choice.
