Obituary of Carlton D'Auria
Carlton "Cart" D'Auria, Sr. of Port Morris, NJ passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 surrounded by his loving family..
Born in Childress, Texas on a US Army Air Force base on March 13, 1944, he resided in Port Morris, NJ for the past 68 years.
Pre-deceased by his parents, Emilio and Violet (Ackley) D'Auria, his brother, Emilio, Jr. and his sisters; Theresa Barbato, Margaret (Peg) Ligouri and Josephine Galvan.
"Cart" is survived by his wife of 35 years, Frances (Bell), two sons of Florida, Carlton E., Jr. and Vincent E., his daughter, Laura Kemmerer of Port Morris, five grandchildren; Amanda, Matthew and Andrew D'Auria of Florida. Paulie and Nicholas Kemmerer of Port Morris who were a great source of comfort and joy in "Pop Pop's" final weeks, as well as his nephew, Louis Barbato. Also surviving are six great -grandchildren of Florida. Additional survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He worked 33 years at Teltley Tea (Tenco) in Morris Plains, NJ. He was an avid historian and collector of Port Morris memorabilia. Cart was known as a wonderful caring person to his family and many friends.
Cart's Life Celebration will include visitation on Friday, April 24th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, April 25th at 11:00 am the Port Morris United Methodist Church, 296 Center Street, Port Morris, NJ. Family & friends are invited to meet directly at the church Saturday morning. For memorial donations, please consider the Port Morris United Methodist Church.
