I never knew Alanna, but I was a full time evening student at Berkeley College for their IT program & I believe I had seen her in the hallways from time to time. It's always tough hearing about a fellow student passing away whether you knew them or not. It was heartbreaking hearing about it. I would like to extend my condolences and prayers to all the friends and family of Alanna. I am so sorry for your loss, but hold on to the good memories of her. God bless you. - Pete Blasko

Alanna,
I don't even know where to start. We meet in high school and have remained friends throughout the years. You were always the spontaneous, full of energy, fun, loving one… Up to whatever so long as you were surrounded by friends. You cherished every one of them unconditionally. You had one of the most giving, and caring hearts a friend could ever ask for. For that I feel so lucky, and blessed. Even though our time was cut short I can look back and remember all of the good times we had together and appreciate every moment. I wish we could have had more. Thank you for being such a great friend to me. You will never be forgotten, and always loved.
I always admired your family's closeness and strength, and to the Mitchell's my heart is broken for you right now. I hope you can find comfort in knowing how many people your beautiful daughter/ sister/ aunt has touched. She truly was an amazing person.
With deepest sympathy,
?

Alanna I just cant believe your gone. We rented our first place together. A tiny little house and our bedroom was the size of a walk in closet, but we made it work and had some of the best times there. We would work together then go home together, You only lasted two months though, you said you were moving back home because you missed your family, even though we only lived two minutes from them. I think I was also too much of a neat freak and scared you a little. We stayed close and had some great times. Then life happens and people drift apart but when we would run into each other at the General store or the Wanda we would do the 10 minute catch up, we would promise to get together, but work and busy schedules get in the way and before you know it years have passed. I was heartbroken to hear the news. I will never forget you and living our early 20's together and just having a blast. RIP I will never forget you and my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

I met Alanna while I was in high school. Moving to Vernon at the age of 15 was very hard for me. She took me under her wing, and helped me to feel more comfortable in my new surroundings.
She introduced me to a time in my life that I will never forget. I am grateful, and am sorry that we didn't keep in touch.
I hope she has found the peace she was searching for here on Earth. She is an Angel that will now look over her family and friends and will forever be in our hearts.
My deepest condolences to the Mitchell Family.
Rest in Peace Alanna. You will be missed! Until we meet again…. Spread your wings and fly my friend

You were in 1st or 2nd grade when I met you and your family. You were so good with Amy who was just 2 or 3, she loved you like crazy! I remember going trick or treating together you guys and your mom, and the 3 of us.....we were always at each others house, you were a huge part of my kids lives, as was your whole family, as you all were growing up. Then we lived across the street from you and Mel in Ogdensburg for a short time! I got to see you all grown up. What a beautiful woman. I'm sorry life was hard for you, so many people miss you already!

Alanna was my first friend when I moved to Vernon in 4th grade. It's hard moving to a new school but she was always so sweet to me. We had lots of sleep overs, made forts, caught tadpoles in the bog, beach 7 in the summer, and winters we shoveled snow off the lakes so we could ice skate, then would go home make hot cocoa and tell her mom we were home all day cleaning... Deepest condolences to her mom, Melanie and Brandon. I know how close you all were.. Rest in peace Alanna

Camping and running through sprinklers - how she loved her family unconditionally - touring pachem in terris (peace on earth) and marvelling at the outdoor art. She was a true heart in a world lacking authentic people like her. Sending condolences and love to her family and loved ones. My heart is heavy with this news. May she be held in God's peace and received as the angel she was.

Today I thought about all of our good times. There were so many - getting tattooed, going out to different bars, you coming over my parents, getting our nails done, etc. I have a few favorites - like when you met me and the kids at the movies and seeing how you held Ashley's hand during the entire movie - it was so cute. Another is when you and Lilly met me and Duke at the park to go for a long hike. We had to stop a lot for Lilly to take a rest but we had such a great time. Omg - that time we went down the shore to Island Beach State Park with Jenny and I told you to wear sun block and you refused! How about when we all went to your Mom's yoga class that she taught at the Church - we were all giggling so much that one cranky lady got up and left in the middle of class. Yup - there were some really good times. You were always such a loving, and caring woman. It is truly a shame you had to gain your wings so soon in this lifetime. You are loved by so many and there will be many that will miss you. I hope your journey to Heaven was peaceful.
