Obituary of Emelio Rea, Jr.

Emelio Rea, Jr., 87, of Netcong passed away peacefully on Sunday February 11, 2018 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's in Dover.

Born in Netcong on October 15, 1930 to the late Emelio and the late Josephine (Arbolino) Rea, Emelio resided there his entire life. He served proudly in the United States Navy. Emelio worked at his family business, Rea's Tavern in Netcong and also worked as a Car Inspector for the Lackawanna Railroad. Emelio loved to cook and was an avid gardener. He was a member of Netcong Fire Department #1.

In addition to his parents, Emelio was predeceased by two brothers, Vince and Sam.

Survivors include his wife, Marie (Barbato), two daughters, Joan and Bernadine, four sisters, Dolores Dalessandro and husband Benny, Marie DiRupo, Patricia Rea and Tessie Castaldi and many nieces and nephews.

Emelio's Life Celebration will include visiting on Tuesday February 13, 2018 from 4-8PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday February 14 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Church in Netcong. Emelio will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township.
