Oh my, I must share some endearing memories I have of Pat.
I had called Vanessa and asked if she could send me some polenta as it had not yet hit the shelves in Louisville. A day or two later Pat called and stated polenta was simply corn meal and he was pretty sure Louisville had corn meal. I stated I still would like to try "the real thing". He said, "of course", but he was sure I would agree with him. About a week or two later I received a huge package* from them. I opened it and dug out a couple bags of polenta and several other things they had kindly included in the package (that was no surprise, knowing them). At the very bottom of the package was two containers of corn meal. Ha! He had to have that infamous last word. * I should add Pat made the very odd shaped box himself. I loved that.
One night, while visiting them, I met a friend in Chinatown. I guess I returned at about 12 midnight or 1am. All the animals (I think about 5 cats and a dog) met me at the door. I later learned the dog had paced all night until I arrived back. The next day Pat told me his feelings were a little hurt by that. I assured him there was no reason for that and then pointed to the dog laying on his feet. Later he did say he felt better. He and Vanessa both loved their animals so very much.
Despite the "hassle" of having a visitor he always made me feel so very welcome. I will always remember his kindness in doing that. I am hoping he know that was very much appreciated.
Finally, Pat is no longer in pain or in a confusing state. The positive thing is that he is with his love and my friend/sister. The love he had for Vanessa was always so evident. Everyone could easily see that.
Much peace to Pat forever.

My name is Brian Dillon. I lived on Washington St, in Port Morris. Patsy and I were friends. He used to let me ride his bike. (I didn't have one). He was always a nice guy. Realizing, 5 years after the fact, I was sitting at the computer and just thought about Patsy. Looked his name up on google, with the Port Morris location and his obituary came up. My sympathies and prayers to his family. Realizing you don't know me; I am one from the past who knew Pat. Brian Dillon
