Obituary of Frederick Schuld
Frederick Schuld, 67, of the Landing section of Roxbury Township, passed away peacefully on Friday February 23, 2018 at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Born in Newton, NJ, on September 1, 1950 to the late Harold and Catherine (Schade) Schuld, “Fred” resided in Hopatcong prior to moving to Landing in 1987. Fred's love of music included all genres ranging from Rock and Roll to Johnny Mathis to Phantom of the Opera. He managed the Rock Room at "The Lighthouse" in Hopatcong where he turned "records" during band breaks. He built fog machines which were used at weddings, parties, halloween events and even the Cats broadway production. He ran spotlights for Harry Chapin and worked concerts for Teddy Pendergrass and many more. Later, with his wife, built a wholesale/retail ice business "The Ice Factory" in Landing and donated to many local clubs, police and schools. Fred and his wife also shared a love of animals.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Kathleen (DiRoma), a brother, Donald Schuld, a sister, Janet Moyer, many sisters and brothers in-law, cousins and nieces and nephews.
Fred’s Life Celebration will include visiting on Friday March 2, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered Saturday March 3, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Fred will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
