Obituary of Marion F. Franciscus

Marion F. Franciscus of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Franciscus was born on January 25, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to the late William and the late Sarah Ann (Costello) O'Farrell.

She resided in Hopatcong, NJ since 1973. Mrs. Franciscus was a longtime parishioner of St. Jude's RC Church in Hopatcong, she was an active member in the Hopatcong Seniors and enjoyed trips and outings with her friends but most importantly she cherished spending time with her family.

Marion is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Grau & her husband, John and Mary Betsy & her husband, Stephen, her sons, John Franciscus and Robert Franciscus & his wife, Kathleen, her son-in-law, Glenn Doran and her cherished grandchildren, Robert, Brian, Meghan, Maggie, Bridget, Ted, Jack, Colette and Aidan, her brother, William O'Farrell, her sister-in-law, Margaret Franciscus and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard in 2008, her daughter, Virginia Doran in 2009 and her siblings, John O'Farrell and Josephine Howell.

Marion's Life Celebration will include visitation on Tuesday, April 3rd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Wednesday, April 4th at 10:00 am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive in Hopatcong, NJ. Marion will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ immediately following the funeral mass. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
