Obituary of Thomas Walsh

Thomas Walsh, 70, of the Kenvil section of Roxbury passed away, peacefully, on Tuesday May 15, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Pittston, PA on January 7, 1948 to the late Jerome and Margaret (Gates), "Tommy" grew up in the Port Morris section of Roxbury prior to moving to Kenvil to raise his family. In his early years, Tommy was a machinist for Cameron Machinery. He then worked for over 20 years at Hercules Powder Plant in Kenvil and was an active member of the union. After his retirement, Tommy was a trusted handyman and caretaker in Morristown.

Tommy was well-known for his caring and selfless nature, always putting others before himself. He enjoyed the Jersey Shore and cross-country road trips, but he was happiest when with his family. He was a parishioner of St. Therese Church in Succasunna.

Tommy was predeceased by the love of his life, wife Margaret "Margie", three brothers, Patrick, Joseph and Jerry and a sister Judy.

Survivors include his two sons, Christopher Walsh and T.J. Walsh and wife, Jessica and their three children, Melanie, Miranda and Maddox. Tommy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. As well as, his many extended family and in-laws, especially the members of the DeMarino family.

Tommy's Life Celebration will include visiting on Sunday May 20 from 4 – 8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday May 21 beginning at 10:00AM at St. Therese Church in Succasunna. Tom will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township.
