Obituary of Marie "Mert" Rea

Marie "Mert" Rea, 84, of Netcong passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Netcong on December 17, 1933 to the late Louis and the late Carmella (Ronzo) Barbato, Marie resided there her entire life. Marie was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend to all who were fortunate to have met her. She was a homemaker extraordinaire. She loved to bake and never hesitated to share it with anyone that walked through her door. Marie will be missed by many.

Survivors include her devoted daughters, Joan and Bernadine, three sisters, Loretta Noone, Patricia Grogan and Jean Carroll, two brothers, Nick Barbato and John Barbato and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Emelio Jr. in February 2018 and her brother, Louis Barbato in 2014

Marie's Life Celebration will include visiting on Monday, June 25th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, June 26th at 10:00 am at St. Michael's Church in Netcong. Marie will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township.
