Obituary of William H. Twomey

William H. “Bill” Twomey of Lake Lackawanna, Byram Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 3, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 83 years old.  Bill was born on November 26, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ to the late William H. and the late Helen (Fitzgerald) Twomey.

Mr. Twomey was a longtime resident of Lake Lackawanna, Byram Twp., where he enjoyed many years boating and fishing on the lake.  He was a pressman at Compton Press in Morristown, NJ for many years before retiring.  Bill was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, fishing and taxidermy but most importantly, Bill cherished spending time with his family.  Bill was known to his family and friends as a caring, kind, loving gentleman who would always go above and beyond to help his family.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Alta “Shirley” (Emmons), his devoted children, William W. Twomey and his wife, Doreen; Doris Cavallone and her husband, John; Betty Tambasco and her husband, Joe; Thomas Twomey and his wife, Lori, and Robert Twomey as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jenna, Alexa, AJ, Jonathan, Devon, David, Dakota, Hunter, Destiny, Sierra, Bill and Edward.  Additional survivors include his sisters, Marie Myskajtys and Patricia King and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Ethel McGerald.

Bill’s Life Celebration will include visitation on Friday, July 6^th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.  There will be a prayer service offered at 7:30 pm on Friday evening also at the funeral home.
