Obituary of Jeffery A. Verdi

Jeffrey A. Verdi, 63, of Netcong, passed away, peacefully, on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover.

Born in Dover on September 28, 1954 to the late Chester and Helen (Vay) Verdi, Jeff has resided in Netcong all his life. He was a graduate of Netcong High School and enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching football, especially Notre Dame and the Green Bay Packers. Jeff also liked to play and watch golf and was a huge fan of John Wayne and his movies. Jeff was a dedicated member of Netcong Hilltop Fire Co. #2 and the Hackettstown Fire Cataract Hose Co. #1. He was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church in Netcong for many years. Jeff, along with his wife, Michele, were avid motorcyclists and served as co-directors of the NJ Chapter Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA).

Jeff worked as a truck driver for many oil and lubricant companies throughout Morris, Sussex and Warren Counties and was last employed for NJ Lube Oil LLC in Dover.

Survivors include his wife, Michele (Sweet) and stepson, A.J. Cafaro, as well as many close friends and co-workers.

Jeff's Life Celebration will include visiting on Monday July 9 from 4-8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday July 10 beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Church in Netcong. Interment will follow at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township.
