He was a brilliant man. Way before his time. He was my high school History teacher. He made a huge impact on me. He would talk and even yell at us, rather than just write dates on the chalkboard.. A lot of the other kids didn't "get him" they were too programmed into the books.
He told us that it was our fault that the Holocaust happened...wow...who would have had the guts back then to say that to middle class white kids in the suburbs? He Did!

This was one of the teachers whose passion and commitment remain with a student for a lifetime. He taught me the basics and beauty of democracy with commitment and fire that still instruct my days. I think I had the chance to let him know how important he was to my education as a citizen. A salute to one of the great unsung heroes!
