Obituary of Craig J. Forster, Sr.

Craig Joseph Forster, Sr., 71, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Stanhope, passed away on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in Paterson, NJ on July 25, 1947 to Clara Darling and the late Jack S. Forster, Craig resided in Stanhope for 45 years prior to moving to Myrtle Beach just over a year ago. Craig served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was a member and past Commander of American Legion Post #278 of Stanhope and a member of the Musconetcong Lodge F & AM. Craig loved fishing, classic cars and taking care of his plants and garden.

Craig was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn.

Survivors include a son, Craig, Jr. (Jill), two grandchildren Cody and Jordan Forster, mother, Clara Thompson, niece Christina Brown (Michael),Sister Donna Lynn Forster-Pascual & brother Jack Forster and stepchildren, Leanne Schellhammer (Rob), Scott Stevens (Nancy) and David Stevens (Wendy).

Craig's Life Celebration will include visiting on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. A Masonic Service will be offered at 6:30pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. Craig's cremated remains will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
