Obituary of Ruth Winifred Testa

Ruth Winifred (Winnie) Testa of Byram Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 96 years old. Winnie was born on February 20, 1922 in Paterson, NJ to the late Thomas Robertiello and the late Ruth Bowers.

Mrs. Testa graduated Pompton Lakes High School and received a certificate of medical transcription from the Medical Board of Chicago. She was a medical stenographer and a medical record historian for Barnet Memorial Hospital in Paterson, NJ. She also was employed by the US Army Health Clinic in the Medical Supply Department at Picatinny Arsenal where she retired after working many years. Winnie enjoyed cooking, doing crossword puzzles, playing hymns on the piano, especially "The Old Rugged Cross" and spending time with her family.

Winnie is survived by her children, Robbie, Thomas, Cheryl and Winifred, her grandchildren, Michael, Kimberly, Shane, Ryan, Krystal, Dylan, and Meg, her great grandchildren, Mallory, Kelly, Madison, Cassidee, Annee, Owen, Alex and Sadie, her long time caregiver, Ronnie and too many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends to mention. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Michael in 2003 and her son, Michael in 2010.

Winnie's Life Celebration will include a Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, September 15 at 11am at The First Presbyterian Church, 298 Main St., Hackettstown, NJ.  The repast will follow at the Chapel across the street from the church..
