I worked for Art at AlliedSignal for many years and for much of that time was the solitary female engineer in the office. Many times he would refer me to others as their 'girl' engineer. So one time I called him out on it and said "So then I should be referring to you all as the 'boy' engineers?" He laughed and got the message and I never heard it again, at least not within earshot. I am also thankful for his tea-drinking habit, myself as well, as he made sure tea was also available in meetings where coffee was served. But being a woman in a primarily male field at the time, I will always remember the good, respectful, and humorous working relationship that we had together. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and I send his surviving family my sincerest condolences.
