Obituary of Christopher Kelly

Christopher Kelly, 72, of Hopatcong passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday January 16, 2019, at his home. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 28, 1946 to the late George and Kathleen (Stibitz) Kelly, Christopher has been a resident of Hopatcong for 40 years. He retired in 2015 after a long, successful career in the trucking industry. Christopher was an award winning sales executive at Conway Transportation in Mt. Arlington and prior to that, he was an award winning service center manager for Old Dominion Freightlines. Christopher enjoyed being outdoors, yardwork, casino day trips and vacations in Wildwood Crest and Cape May. Above all else, Christopher loved spending time with his family and his favorite hobby was spoiling his grandchildren. He was a parishioner of St. Jude's Church in Hopatcong. Christopher was predeceased by his sisters, Kathleen Dreher and husband, Arthur and Marguerite McKee and husband, John. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara, son, Brian and wife, Juliette, daughter, Cheryl Lotito and husband, Chris, son, Dennis and wife, Jennifer, grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Ava, Addison, Evan, Dennis, Declan and Quinn and three brothers, George, Robert and wife, Yvonne and William and wife, Kathy. Also surviving are many extended family and close friends. Christopher's Life Celebration will include visiting on Wednesday January 23, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. All are invited to join the family at Mass on Thursday January 24 beginning at 10:00AM at St. Jude's RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. Christopher will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township following Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to a breast cancer foundation of your choice.
