Obituary of William D. Brooks

William D. Brooks, 83 of Hopatcong passed away, peacefully, on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Holly Manor.

Born in Newark, NJ on August 4, 1935 to the Late Milton and Bridget Brooks. William has been a resident of Hopatcong for many years. He was a Korean War Veteran receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a carpenter for DuPont in Newark before his retirement. William was an avid runner and enjoyed building and wood working.

William is predeceased by his loving wife Cathie in 1993. He is survived by his children Susan Della Sala and her husband Drew and Kenneth and his wife Irene. Grandchildren Andrew Della Sala and his wife Ashli, Jamie Caruso and her husband Joe, Caitlin Della Sala and Anthony Perretti (Pedro), Billy Brooks and his wife Amanda, Kenny Brooks and his wife Sara, Michael Brooks and Samantha Brooks. Great Grandchildren Bianca Della Sala, Andrew Della Sala, Skye Brooks and Dayton Brooks. He is also survived by his sisters Agnes Lombardino, Joan Ann Paris and nieces and nephews.

William's Life Celebration will include visiting on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 3pm to 7pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. Military Funeral Honors will be held at 6:30pm at the funeral home. All other services are being conducted privately. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to woundedwarriors.org.
