Obituary of Gemma V. Gallo

Gemma V. Gallo passed away into the hands of our Lord on Saturday February 2, 2019. She was 94. Gemma was born on March 29, 1924 in a house on College Road, Netcong NJ to Joseph and Philomena Gallo. She lived most of her life in Budd Lake prior to moving to Port Morris in Landing NJ In her early years she worked at Waterloo Village in Stanhope Throughout her life she wore many hats but mostly she was a caregiver who loved her family immensely. Gemma was a very loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother. Gemma was free spirted quirky and fun. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up a room and a heart just as big. She enjoyed music and walking throughout her life. She loved her jewelry and cookies, especially peanut butter. She just enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, reading her magazines watching the news and just spending all her time with her family. Gemma was predeceased by her three brothers: Joseph Gallo Jr. of Flanders NJ, John Gallo also of Flanders, and Vincent Gallo of Netcong NJ She is survived by her daughter Phyllis Gallo -Sperry of Port Morris, Landing NJ. Her two Grandsons Ronald L Sperry Jr. of Mount Arlington NJ, Daniel Joseph Sperry Sr. and his wife Melissa and her great grandson Daniel Joseph Sperry JR. (DJ) of Hewitt NJ A sister Gloria Cross of Pennsylvania, A sister in law Clara O'Naghten of Flanders and sister in law Mildred Gallo of Netcong NJ and many nieces and nephews. Gemma's Life Celebration Services will include a Memorial Mass on Sunday, March 3rd at 1.30 P.M. at Saint Therese Catholic Church, 151 Main Street, Succasunna NJ. With a Memorial Celebration of Life to follow at the Seasons Glenn Club House 1 Community Lane, Mount Arlington NJ.
