Obituary of Carmela DeNaro

Carmela (nee: Scaletta) DeNaro of Hopatcong passed away Thursday March 21, 2019 at home. She was 90 years of age. Born in Bari Italy, she came to the United States in 1963. She settled in Hopatcong in 1965. A homemaker, she also worked at Shop-Rite (1981 to 1991). Carmela enjoyed cooking, sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, painting, drawing, playing cards and making her own Sake. Beloved wife of the late Teddy R. (2012). Devoted mother of Stephen DeNaro, Jennie DeNaro Saum and Anna Maria McDougal. Loving grandmother of Jacqueline DeNaro. Dear sister-in-law of Adeline DiSantis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carmela's Life Celebration on Sunday March 24 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday March 25 at 10:00AM at St. Jude RC Church, Hopatcong. Carmela will be laid to rest with her late husband Teddy following mass in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Oncology and Hematology Foundation, 333 Rt. 46, West Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046.
