Obituary of Susan T. Sammarco

Susan T. Sammarco of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Sammarco was born on December 23, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Mario the late Rose (Londino) Festa.

Susan was a longtime resident of Hopatcong, a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed bowling, ceramics, gardening, cooking and baking. She loved butterflies and cherished Valentine's Day teddy bears from her son but most importantly Susan loved spending time with her family.

Susan is survived by her children, Debra Bonilla & her husband, John, Steven & his wife, Sor Maria, Richard & his wife, Janice, Susan Stockman & her husband, Dale, and Raymond. Additional survivors include her cherished grandchildren, Janelle, Jennifer, Sabrina, Steven Jr. Alejandro, Rachel, Matthew, Eric and Michael, her great-grandchildren, Osiri, Logan and Jason, her sister, Evelyn Festa, her brother, Thomas Festa, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond in 1995, her granddaughter, Stephanie in 1986, her sisters, Maria Galtieri and Rosalie Romano and her brother, Anthony Festa.

Susan's Life Celebration will include visitation on Monday, April 1st from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, April 2nd at 10:30 am at St. Jude RC Church, 17 Mount Olive Road in Budd Lake, NJ. Susan will be laid to rest at the Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ immediately following the funeral mass. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ. For memorial donations, please consider a charity of your choice.
