I remember Lois has the Librarian at Hopatcong High School. She use to leave my wheelchair, crutches and books in her office. She treated me like one of her kids. I remember one day I wheeled in and Bruce said I don’t know what you did but she is mad. Lois called me in her office and asked where was I for Math class on Thursday. I told her I was at the nurse then I went across the street to the Child Study Team and the to guidance till end of class. She yelled at me and I thought it was over. Till the following Thursday when she called me in the office and to my surprise she checked all the place I had told her. She found out I was only at each places for a few minutes and she found out I was in the lunchroom. That I really cut class. She asked me why and I told her one of the class said I couldn’t cut class in a wheelchair and crutches so I took the dare. To my surprise, she had talk to the vice principal and I had to stay after school for two days. Besides that Lois had me carry a paper around for a whole month and have my teachers sign it. She was my friend, my school mom and my tutor. She got me to graduate High school. We called each for awhile then we lost contact. I never forgot her and how I got caught cutting class not by the math teacher. But someone who cared enough to teach me a lesson! Even though she laughed about it. She will truly be miss. Hope no one cuts classes in heaven

Doug and I have fond memories of Lois and her family as they were our neighbors on Lakeside Boulevard for many years. She was a strong woman who loved her family and friends. May the memories shared by her loved ones sustain them during their time of grief.

Everyone involved in the school community knew Mrs. Feakins. As a parent, neighbor and later a colleague, I always respected her dedication to education. She always spoke her mind and fought for the best for her students. Thank you Lois. You will be remembered.

It is with sadness that one of the great women of Lake Hopatcong has passed away. Lois always was gracious and loved her family and her home on the shores of the lake and had the pleasures of enjoying that view until her dying moments thanks to the love and support of her family. Lifting your family in prayer as I know that she shall be missed. She was a true gem.

Mrs. Feakins was a link to my past, my school days in Hopatcong. I have fond memories of her and her beautiful home on the lake. Thanks and prayer and peace to your family.
