Obituary of Elisa M. Testa

Elisa M. Testa of Landing, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Regency Grande Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Dover surrounded by her loving family. She was 70. Born in Ridgewood NY to the late Vincent and the late Martha (nee: Forcina) Testa, she lived in Landing for the past 23 years. Prior to her retirement, Elisa was an administrator with stocks and bonds for 36 years with Merrill-Lynch in New York. Elisa was truly devoted to her Catholic faith. Active in both Our Lady of the Lake Church in Mt. Arlington and St. Therese Church in Succasunna, she was a member of the Legion of Mary (New Jersey and New York), Member of the Benedictine Society and Columbiettes in New Jersey. A "faith filled" woman, she was a "Faith Mentor" to many. She made rosary beads and was involved with several church choirs. Thoughtful, caring, loving and generous, she enjoyed Italian cooking and baking and was known for her homemade tri-color cookies and biscotti. Elisa loved her family. She was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous (31 years sober) and a family member of Al-Anon groups. Dear sister of Angelina Dougherty, Roseanne Schaefer (George) and Martha Korovich (Mike). Blessed godmother of Karen Murtha, Elisa Scibetta, Martha Rose Korovich and Faith Korovich. Elisa will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Cherished aunt of Elisa (Jim), Michael (Silvia), Martha (Joe), Theresa (Jay), Eddie (Michelle), Vinny (Kelly), Rosemary (Mike), Michael and Martha Rose. Loving great aunt of Vincent, Grace, Ethan, Rebecca, Jackson, Lucy, Jocelyn, Braisley and Ever. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Elisa's Life Celebration on Thursday, August 1st from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake RC Church in Mt. Arlington. Elisa will be laid to rest with her parents in St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, NY, following mass. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Church, 8 Windmere Avenue, Mt. Arlington, NJ (973-398-0240)
