Obituary of John L. Haag

John "Jack" Haag of Netcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old. Jack was born on August 24, 1936 in Reading, Pa. to the late Lester and the late Julia Haag.

Mr. Haag was a lifetime resident of Netcong and was employed as night manager of the A&P Supermarkets where he worked for many years before retiring. Jack was an avid sports fan both as a participant and as a spectator. He was a season ticket holder with the Sussex County Minors Baseball Team. Jack also enjoyed listening to Glen Miller music, watching horse & dog racing and playing scratch off lottery tickets but most importantly, he loved spending time with his devoted family, especially his precious grandchildren. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army where he played baseball as a left handed pitcher.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Patricia Corrado & her husband, Nicholas, his son, Jack Jr., his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, Leah, Brittney, Matthew and his sister, Patricia Poppalardo. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia in 2008.

Jack's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Friday, August 2nd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a Prayer Service on Saturday, August 3rd at 9:30 am also at the funeral home. Jack will be laid to rest with full military honors and with his wife, Patricia, at the Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ. For memorial donations, please consider the Hospice Charity of One's Choice.
