Obituary of Domenica "Minnie" Mayfield

Domenica "Minnie" Mayfield, 83, of Hopatcong, passed away, peacefully, on Tuesday August 6th, 2019 at Mt. Arlington Senior Living.

Born in New York City on April 5, 1936 to the late Guiseppe and Jennie (Tombone) Festa. Minnie has resided in Hopatcong since 1962. Minnie worked in the Hopatcong High School Cafeteria Snack Stand for 35 years and was affectionately known as the "Junk Food Lady". She loved doing yardwork around her home.

Minnie was predeceased by her husband, James in 1993, son, Jimmy in 2015, and grandson, Brandon in 2005. A brother and four sisters also passed previously.

Survivors include three daughters, Diane Pierson and husband, Kip, Karen Laurino and husband Robert and Jennie Mayfield and her fiancé, Michael Sullivan, two grandchildren, Kim Gibbs and husband, John and James Mayfield and wife, Elizabeth, great granddaughter, Penny Gibbs and three sisters, Fifi Halicek, Jennie Morisi and husband, Peter and Theresa Fennell and husband, David. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Minnie's Life Celebration will include visiting on Sunday August 11, 2019 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday August 12, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Jude's Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. Minnie will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township.
