Obituary of Edward Josef Szefer

Edward Josef Szefer of Bloomfield entered eternal rest on Friday August 30, 2019 at Hackensack UMC Mountainside (Mountainside Hospital) in Glen Ridge. He was 83. Born in Warsaw Poland, he came to the United States in 1983. He lived in Wallington before moving to Bloomfield 14 years ago. Prior to his retirement, Edward was a machinist for Phillips Precision in Elmwood Park. Devoted to his family, he enjoyed kayaking, swimming and discussing politics. He is predeceased by his parents Szczepan and Genowefa (nee: Chmiel) Szefer. Beloved husband of Maria (nee: Pasieka) Szefer. Devoted father of Peter Szefer and his wife Ivana and Ewa Masiak. Loving grandfather of Olivia and Jennie Szefer and Isabella Masiak. Dear brother of Teresa Lodygowska. A Funeral Mass will be held in Edward's native Poland at the Roman Catholic Church of St. John of Dukla, Warsaw. He will be laid to rest following mass in the Cmentarz Czerniakowski, Warsaw.
