Obituary of Iris M. Villanueva

Iris M. Villanueva of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019 at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years old. Iris was born on January 6, 1938 and grew up in New York City before moving to Hopatcong in 1972. Mrs. Villanueva was a seamstress and employed by several garment factories for many years before retiring. She enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking but most importantly, Iris loved spending time with her devoted family. She was a devout Catholic who prayed daily at home, especially when her illness prevented her from attending church services. Iris is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Sergio, her devoted daughter, Nancy and her devoted sons, Jim and Anthony. Iris's Life Celebration will include a graveside Catholic prayer service offered on October 4th at 01:30 pm at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 85 Pleasant Hill Road, Chester, NJ 07930. Family & Friends are invited to meet directly at the cemetery. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
