Obituary of Albert L. Smith

Albert "Happy" Smith of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus surrounded by his loving family. He was 76 years old. Happy was born on September 2, 1943 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Herman and the late Dorothia (Cambpell) Smith.

Happy was a welder by trade but he also owned and operated a tile and granite business and retired after many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Happy enjoyed fishing, sharpening knives, making jewelry, polishing rocks and going to garage sales. Happy took pleasure in passing on his vast knowledge and experience to others so that others may benefit. He was also known for making and "sharing" his special recipe of herbal healing tea but most importantly, Happy loved spending time with his devoted family.

Happy is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary (Muro), his daughters, Kimberly Smith and Michele Rosell (Michael) and his sons, Ryan (Roxanna), Scott (Lisa)and Jason (Crystal), his cherished grandchildren; Matt, Brain, Michael, Dakota, Cara, Sophia, Alex, Marlow and Mia and his great-grandsons, Kaiden and Ian. In addition to his parents, he was also pre-deceased by his son, Dion.
