So hard to say all of the things that are going through your heart and head. Doug, you are truly a special person and one of the most decent human beings any of us have ever known. It was so special for me when you and Red came down to Texas a few years ago. Not sure how to explain this but it was as if all those years never passed. Same crazy stories we’ve told countless times over and over again and we still laugh.
And that is for a reason. The bond of our friendship is so strong that even time and for me, time away, could not distant our memories. You are loved beyond words and we know that you will still be laughing with us but from a much better place.
Thank you for one simple thing. Thank you for your sincerity, love and passion for life. You are an example for all of us and we will NEVER forget you and how much you impacted our lives.
I have been gone for the past 39 years but our friendship and lives were always moments away. Rest in piece Dougie and we will see you soon. And when we do I have a feeling it will be the same old tired stories again and yes, we will laugh harder than ever sharing our lives together.
With love, respect and a thankful heart, rest in piece.

RIP dear friend Doug, one of the kindest, gentlest people I have ever known. A good son, husband, parent, grandfather, and friend. I met Doug my senior year of high school as he was getting ready to graduate from college. I was then introduced to what we now refer to as the "gang". That is how I met Chuck. On occasion I recall saying we should shot a reality show with the cast of characters "the idiots" as I fondly referred to our husbands and that we married them. The laughs always rolled, the stories repeated, but for 4 decades we remained friends. I know your faith is strong and you will be looking down on us. Another piece of my heart is occupied now as I carry you with me.I love you Doug. Rest eternal. Until we met again, peace. I love you Doug.

Dougie, you are one of a small number of people who I consider to be my best friends - my second family. I've been blessed to have you as a friend for more than 55 years. In fact, I've known you the longest. I remember the day we met like it was yesterday. We heard that some new kids were moving into the development so we rode our bikes over and stood at the curb watching the moving van unload. We met that day and have been friends ever since. We've grown up together through grade school, high school, college and to the present. Throughout those years we've shared so many good times and laughs that I could fill a book. "The boys" got together for Monday Night Football for 20 years - that's got to be some kind of record.
You are one of the kindest, gentlest and caring people I've ever known. You never spoke a harsh word toward anyone. You are a great father, husband, grandfather and family man.
I feel honored to call you my friend and I will, we will, never forget you. The "boys" will honor your memory and you will live on in our hearts, our memories and in our stories whenever we get together. You are the best my friend.

Doug,
We had a lot of fun together during our Sentry days - Yankee games - Thurman Munson game / West Point / Collin's / Seton Hall / Morris County softball ... etc..
How about that hat collection ? I take pride in contributing to it.
I figure I knew you for about 45 years - you are a lifetime friend.
I will miss you.
Until we meet again, my friend.

You were one of a kind, Doug. In all the years I knew you I can honestly say I never heard you speak a bad word about anyone. You were always kind and always smiling. We always had so much fun together when you and Cindy came here or we went to your house to play games. We always ended up laughing so hard we couldn't even play the games. Now we have the memories because we no longer have you. You will be missed by so many. Some people come into our lives and they leave as quickly, not you Doug, you came into people's lives and made such a wonderful impression. We are all better people because we knew you. I am so grateful that I have these memories that I have tucked away and can bring out whenever I think of you. You're were a wonderful man, a great son, a wonderful husband to Cindy a great Dad to Kelly, Stacey and Kevin and Josh. An adoring grandfather to your two beautiful granddaughters. You were a great friend, a great brother and brother in law, and uncle. Fly high Doug, our loss is now heaven's gain. Until we all meet again. Cindy,Kelly, Stacey and Kevin, Josh and Maggie and Ella. I am so very sorry for your loss, you all remain in my thoughts and my prayers.

Uncle Doug was the best! He was one of the kindest, gentle ,and outgoing people I have ever had the privilege of knowing.....He truly adored Aunt Cindy and his children and grandchildren. He was a family man and a true role model. I am so proud to say he was my Uncle! I will miss you and I will never forget you, until we meet again Uncle Doug......Rest easy and peacefully and may our good Lord be with my Aunt Cindy and my cousins. DB
