Obituary of Maria G. Spezza

Maria G. Spezza, 77, of the Landing section of Roxbury Township passed away on Wednesday January 1, 2020 at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Naples, Italy on August 8th, 1942 to the late Carmen and Felicia (Monda) Amato, Maria came to the United States in 1963 and settled in Landing. She worked at Dover Handbag in Netcong prior to her retirement. Maria enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for her family. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren. She also liked to crochet. Survivors include her husband, Luigi, two sons, Roberto (Charleen) and Pasquale (Shelley), six grandchildren, Roberto, Nicco, Lily, Luigi, Daniel and Dominic, two sisters, Hope Spangenberg (William) and Carmella Lucarelli (Joe) and two brothers, Jack and Pat Amato (Susan). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Maria's Life Celebration will include visiting on Monday January 6th, 2020 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday January 7th, 2020 beginning at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's RC Church, Netcong. Maria will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery.
