Obituary of Elizabeth A. Mauro

Elizabeth A. Mauro of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at VNA Hospice in Dover, NJ surrounded by her loving husband, son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. She was 76 years old. Elizabeth was born on October 14, 1943 in Queens, NY to the late Ralph and the late Helen Caparelli. Elizabeth was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. In her early years, she attended the Phoenix Art Institute in New York City and was offered a job to work for Walt Disney at his new theme park in Orlando, Florida. Elizabeth also owned and operated her own arts and crafts business. Her artistic talents included needlepoint, painting and drawing. Elizabeth was a member of the Hopatcong Open Space Environmental Commission and past President of the Crescent Cove Beach Club ("The Mud Hole"). She was an animal lover known for feeding animal wildlife throughout the town. Most importantly, Elizabeth cherished her time spent with her devoted family. Elizabeth is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, John, her devoted son, Andrew and his wife, Michelle and her cherished grandchildren, Kristie and Todd. She was pre-deceased by her twin daughters, Marybeth and Elizabeth. Elizabeth's Life Celebration will include visitation on Wednesday, January 8th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass offered on Thursday morning, January 9th at 10:00 am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
