Its only been a little over two weeks since you left us. I miss our time together sooo much! You were a bright light in this world and such a wonderful soul! Although you are no longer with us in body, your spirit and your bright light will live on in our hearts forever!
Love and miss you very much!!

I got to know Melissa after Doug ubered us to JFK for our trip to Hungary just after my first bladder scrape. He had overheard us at Karate and knew we'd need a ride. We got to talking about surgeries and he told us about Melissa's recent surgery. For the next year and a half I spent many half hour sessions talking to Melissa while waiting for our kids. I got a chance to talk to her and become friends with her as she went through treatments and I went through my bladder stuff and swap stories. Our daughters became friends and they went to the each other's birthday parties... Rest in Peace, Melissa. You will be missed greatly.

The last time I was able to spend any time with my beautiful niece Melissa was in 2015 when I visited NJ. She brought her beautiful children, Hunter & MacKenzie with her. She was exuberant, funny and loving. I could ascertain from our visit that she was a wonderful mother too! That visit meant a great deal to me. I kept in touch with her after that. She touched my heart. During her battle with cancer she always portrayed strength, resolve & a fighting spirit. I am proud of the woman she has become! She left us way too soon. I love you Mel always!

I worked with Hunter in Early intervention. Melissa was a wonderful mother and always very involved with her childrens development. Now her children will have a angel watching over them.

My very deepest condolences. I choose the yellow candle because Mel always reminded me of a ray of sunshine.
