Obituary of Frank J. Urban, Jr.

Frank J. Urban, Jr. of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old. Frank was born on January 1, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Frank and the late Ruth (Snyder) Urban. Mr. Urban was an Attorney at State Farm Insurance where he worked for many years before retiring. Frank also served as a municipal court judge for the Borough of Ogdensburg, NJ. He spent his childhood in the Philly and the South Jersey areas attending Paulsboro High School. Later he headed to Northwestern, NJ and Clifton. Frank was a Philadelphia sports fanatic and a history buff. He also enjoyed reading, singing and listening to music but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Frank is survived by his devoted children; Cynthia Urban Thee, Timothy Urban (Cindy), Jill Steensen (Joel), Laura Simpson (Glen), and Amy Urban (Gussy), his step-daughter, Kelly O'Reilly (Alan), his cherished grandchildren; Michael, Chelsea, Julia, Janelle, Eric, Blaise, Reina, Colton, Halle, Melina, Kiyon, Kash, Koah, Gus, Jada, Lea, Phoebe, Mila, Maggie, Finlay, Ella, Charlie and Koalbie and his sister, Patricia Muldoon (Phil). Frank was pre-deceased by his step-son, Michael McGovern in 2017, his sister, Rosemary Bornmann in 2018 and his brother-in-law, Stephen Bornmann, Sr. in 2019. Frank's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Thursday, March 5th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm with a Catholic Prayer Service offered at 5:30 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850.
