Obituary of Elizabeth DeKleine

Elizabeth Victoria DeKleine, 78, passed away on Friday March 20, 2020 at Morristown Medical Center. Born on September 13, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to the late John and Hedwig (Ryniewicz) Sulinski, "Betty" has resided in Hopatcong for nearly 60 years. She was a parishioner of St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong for 58 years and a member of the Hopatcong Women's Club for 56 years, as well as, the Hopatcong Seniors. Betty's hobbies included crochet, reading, gardening and taking care of the birds and squirrels in her yard. She enjoyed traveling on cruise ships and trips with her family and senior citizens. She also liked playing casino slot machines. Betty was devoted to her family and her greatest joy as spending time and caring for them, especially her adoring grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Joseph. in 2012 and grandson, Daniel Robert. in 2013. Survivors include her children, Robert John DeKleine, Daniel Kenneth DeKleine, Laura Anne DeKleine-Davis-Schurter and Peter John DeKleine, seven grandchildren, Robert James DeKleine, Ashley Ryan Simpson, Caitlin Marie Richardson, Sarah Elizabeth DeKleine, Connor Robert Davis, Jason Allen Davis and Charley Anne DeKleine, five great grandchildren, Robert, Charlotte, John (Jack), Brayden and Giarah, two great grandchildren "on the way", Kameron Elizabeth and Olivia Ryan, brother Dennis John Robert Sulinski and sister-in-law (the sister she never had), Hildagard Sulinski. Out of an abundance of love and due to the recommendation of "social distancing" the family has prudently chosen to hold Betty's services privately.
