Obituary of Ben Adelsky

Ben Adelsky of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Regency Grande Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Dover, NJ. He was 92 years old. Ben was born on August 21, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Samuel and the late Anna (Bernard) Adelsky. Ben was a United States Postal Clerk and worked out of the Dover Post Office for many years before retiring. Mr. Adelsky resided in Hopatcong since 1965 and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Ben was a member of VFW Post #1010 in Hopatcong where he served as past commander and he also was in charge of their Voice of Democracy Contest and served as the Post's Historian as well. Ben is survived by his devoted daughters, Karen Mongrella and Janet Adelsky, his cherished grandchildren, John, Emily and Lauren, his great-grandchildren, Anthony and Kyle and his brother, Murray. Ben was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Edna in 2001 and his beloved siblings. Out of an abundance of love and due to the restrictions of "social distancing" the family has prudently chosen to hold Ben's Services privately. Ben will be laid to rest with his wife at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ. All services are under the care of and entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
