Obituary of John Joseph Plinio, Jr.

John Joseph Plinio, Jr passed away at home in Hopatcong on May 25, 2020 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 71. John was born on October 1, 1948 to John and Naomi Plinio. He grew up in River Edge and River Vale, NJ. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1971 with a degree in finance. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. He worked for New Jersey Bank, Horizon Bank, Metropolitan State Bank, Chemical Bank, and was a driver for UPS. He met his wife, Donna Randazzo, while working for New Jersey Bank in 1978. In 1979, they moved to their home in Hopatcong. In 1992, he left the banking industry to follow the his passion of carpentry and working with his hands. In 2013, he retired and has been spending his retirement playing rounds of golf and spending time with his family. He enjoyed his yearly fishing trip on the Salmon River with his buddies and son and rooting for the Mets. He was predeceased by his parents John Joseph Plinio, Sr and Naomi Plinio. He is survived by his wife, Donna Randazzo; his son, Matthew Plinio; his daughter, Alicia Plinio, and her husband, Sean Schuchman; and his grandson, Samuel Schuchman. He is also survived by his older sister Stevie Hudson and her husband Alan; his twin brother, Richard Plinio and his wife Maryann; and his younger brother, Robert Plinio and his wife, Heidi. He is also survived by five nieces and a nephew: Christy Lupine, Jamie Williams, Cheryl De Graffenreaidt, Kaitlyn Plinio, Samantha Randazzo, and Joshua Randazzo.
