Fr. Murphy, I've been thinking of you for months, today I finally had the time to punch in your name and to my sincerest sorrow found that you no longer were here, but went to your eternal reward and glory. You were the sweetest and caring human being I ever had the pleasure to work with at Paterson Catholic. Our long talks, advice and especially the jokes and laughs we shared will always be a fond memory. I'm so sorry I didn't make the time to contact you sooner, as perhaps we could have remeness over some really great times we shared especially at the PC proms and the rides in the limo. You will surely missed by many, and I'm grateful to have had you in my life. May you rest in eternal peace and love.

We first knew Father Murphy when he resided in the rectory at Saint Vincent de Paul Church, Sterling, N.J. He was a kind and gentle priest with an Irish sense of humor. We were strong supporters and admirers of him in his association with Paterson Catholic High School and with him disagreed with the Bishop's closing of the school. We saw Father Murphy again at Saint Joseph's Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor in Totowa. A wonderful person and priest. 'May the Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ Accompany Him into Eternal Life'. Father Murphy's passing It is a huge loss to the Christian Community. We knew him well. He was the visiting priest at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Denville, NJ. When I was stricken with cancer in 2007 and was operated on at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City - I was quite surprised when I woke up to find my husband standing there with Father Murphy. He was a very dear and compassionate man. Heaven has now been blessed with another angel. May he rest in peace.

We moved to Mt. Arlington in 2013 and met Father Murphy at Our Lady of the Lake Church. We knew from day one that we wanted to go to his masses. He was the kindest priest I ever met. He had such a great sense of humor, we use to sit in the last row and when they would announce his name he would say Oh no, not him again. We were very sad when we heard that he passed and wished that he could of enjoyed more of his retirement. He will be missed, from your friends, Joe & Theresa Pannucci
