Obituary of Joseph Peter Iannaccone

Joseph Peter Iannaccone (Big Joe) passed away on August 14, 2020 in Fletcher N.C. surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren after a short illness. He was born in Union City N.J. on September 23, 1934 to Giuseppe and Angelina Iannaccone. Joe lived in Hopatcong, New Jersey for over 30 years before moving to Fletcher NC in 2008. Joe was a veteran of the Korean War, 2nd Armored Tank Division Hell on Wheels. He was a lifelong Yankee fan and even washed Cashman's car! Joe was always smiling and had a way to make others feel loved. While he was the best Dad ever to his own kids, he stood in the gap for so many others (Papa Joe). Joe always knew how to have a good time, loved to dance and was the life of the party! He truly knew how to enjoy life. He is predeceased by his parents as well as his siblings, Samuel, Concetta, Leonard, Victor, Camillo, Rose, Mary, and Jerry. He is survived by his wife Leslie and his four children from his first marriage: Debra Serocke (Steve), Diane Perretti (Rob), Sharon Luciani (Vincent), Robert Iannaccone (Leighann) and his five grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Samantha Serocke; Jasmine and Jade Luciani along with so many loving nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at The Luciani Residence, 21 Mackerley Road, Newton, NJ 07860 at 2:00pm. A Prayer Services will begin at 2:30pm with the repast to immediately follow the service.
