Obituary of Debra A. Altman

Debra A. Altman of Landing, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2020 at home. She was 55 years old. Debra was born on October 29, 1965 in Dover, NJ. Debra was a 1984 graduate of Roxbury High School and a lifelong "Free Spirit". She was described by all who knew her as loving, outgoing, quick witted, selfless and amazing. Debra was always interested in learning all about history and loved the supernatural. She enjoyed being out on Lake Hopatcong boating, sun bathing and racing. A true Dr. Debbie Doolittle, Debra loved and cared for many animals. At the end of the day, Debra was always happiest among her friends and family. Debra is survived by her devoted daughter, Melissa Sloane, her companion Louis Sloane of 28 years, her best friend Lorraine Tuths and too many dear friends to mention. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Ilene St. John and her step-father, David Hoffmann. Debra's Life Celebration will include a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, November 7th at 2:00 pm at the Hopatcong State Park. Family and friends are invited to meet DIRECTLY at the State Park on Saturday afternoon. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
