Obituary of Joseph M. Pollio

Joseph M. Pollio, 77, of Hopatcong passed away peacefully at home on Monday November 16, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York City, NY on April 25, 1943 to the late Salvatore J. and Marietta T. (Pepe) Pollio, Joe resided in Brooklyn, NY, Queens, NY, Lake Hopatcong, NJ and Ridgefield, NJ prior to moving to Hopatcong in 1967. Joe worked for Teamsters Union in Pine Brook, NJ prior to his retirement in 2009. Joe has always been known as a hard worker. Even after retiring, he was often seen working on various projects for family and friends. He previously worked as owner/operator of JM Pollio, Inc. of Hopatcong and currently as a foreman for Pollio Construction of Long Valley, NJ. Survivors include his wife Carol A. (Wilkens), children Michael J. , Lisa A. and Scott A. and wife, Natalie, six grandchildren Taylor, Nicole, Joseph, Kaitlyn, Lauren and Madalyn and siblings James, Janet DePreter and Angela Scullion. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Joe's Life Celebration will include visiting on Thursday November 19, 2020 from 4-8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered on Friday November 20, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Friends and family may gather Friday morning at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM.
