Obituary of James Duffy

James Duffy, Jr. 71, of Hopatcong passed away peacefully at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover on Friday, November 20, 2020. Born in Passaic, NJ on November 11, 1949 to the late James J. and Anna Duffy. James lived in Hopatcong for many years. He worked as a Papermaker for Marcal paper products in Elmwood Park before retiring. An Army Veteran from 1970 – 1972 he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and hanging out at the State Park with his very close friends. Survivors include his wife Helen (Hurley) of 47 years, children Catherine Gullbergh and her husband Gabriel and James Lucas Duffy, Grandchild Riley and a grandson on the way. Also survived by several brothers and sisters and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held at a later date for family and friends.
