Obituary of Richard J. Gantert

Richard J. Gantert of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at home. He was 89 years old. Richard was born on November 28, 1931 in Denville, NJ to the late Bob and the late Florence Gantert. Richard was a longtime resident of Mt. Arlington where he enjoyed his beautifully maintained home on Lake Hopatcong. He proudly served his country in the United States Military during the Korean War. Mr. Gantert owned and operated Gantert Paving Company in Randolph, NJ for many years. Richard is survived by his companion, Katrzyna "Kasha" Sprycha, his daughter, Jill Frato and his son, Thomas Gantert. Additional survivors include his best friend, Joe and dear friends Kevin & Ashley Sprycha, Kamil & Kristen Sprycha, and Alice Hebel and too many other friends to mention. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Betty in 2016. Richard's Life Celebration Services will include a memorial gathering for all his family and friends to attend which will be planned and announced in the Spring. Richard will be laid to rest privately at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. All services have been entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
