Today I was thinking about my basketball friend, man of God, friend, and his wife Lois. Art and Lois shared new year's eve with us one year. A nice time. He and Jan played basketball with the other men in Netcong. Jan is 68 now, had open heart surgery in 2013. Art is his inspiration. He loved God, Lois loved God. But Art is Jan's fitness inspiration. Jan will play again to pick up that mantel you left behind. He'll sink some deep shots for you Art. Now you are worshipping in Heaven. We'll see you there; Jan with his Nike's on. Much love to you and yours. You were a special man in a hard world. Thanks.

Dearest Lois, Lisa & David - I send my deepest sympathy to you in the loss of Pastor from this earth May "the peace that passes all understanding" that he preached so faithfully to children, youth and adults bring peace and comfort to you and your family in the coming days. I thank God I had the privilege of working beside him with the Music at Our Savior and for his constant encouragement and love for our Musicians as they served God. I will never forget that he always had time to listen, point out Scripture and pray with me through many good and difficult times in my life. Now he is safe in the arms of Jesus he so faithfully served on this earth. I will miss him very much. He always had a hug, a smile and a kind word. My prayers and love are with you and your dear family.

Dear Lois, David, Lisa & Family,
My deepest condolences to all! I am sorry for your loss, my Prayers are with you. I have so many fond memories of Pastor Doring, growing up in Our Savior, Baptized, Confirmed, Married. Pastor Doring would always have a warm smile to greet anyone. He was there for me throughout my Milstones or even to share my grief. He visited me when I was recovering from anorexia, baptized both my Children, participated in my son's Funeral in 2010, traveling over two hours to attend, then both my Parents in 2012, and 2016, Pat and Jack Houser. It was at my Father's funeral I was elated to share with him, I too was a Minister, now officially ordained in 2018. If it wasn't for the huge role he played in my life I wouldn't be where I am today. Thank you Pastor Doring for touching all our lives in such an extraordinary way. We can find peace knowing you are smiling more than ever, now that you are with Jesus and those gone on before us.
With fond memories Always~

Dear Lois, David, Lisa and family,
My sincere condolences to you all on your loss. Pastor Doring was loved by so many and will be missed by all. I have known him for more years than I can remember; he baptized one of my sons, taught and confirmed both of them, traveled to Florida to perform the marriage of one of my sons, and baptized my two grandsons even after his retirement. He was a wonderful pastor, teacher, preacher and mentor, and a wonderful friend. Though we mourn now, we all can also rejoice in that we know that he is now basking in the Glory of the Lord who welcomed his life-long faithful servant with open arms and awesome love.
With love and caring,
Dan Slavik

Uncle Art was our Favorite Uncle !! Aunt Lois and Uncle Art were a big part of our childhood and brought so much love and fun when we visited them in New Jersey. Never a dull moment, fishing, hiking, softball, and yes of course basketball !! We miss those days, but have lots of fond memories with Lisa and David too. Uncle Art spoke at my Dad's funeral. His words were so loving and appreciated during our time of sorrow. As he said about my Dad-"Well done thou good and faithful servant", this is also very true for Uncle Art. They are probably in heaven telling jokes and watching over us.
Love and hugs to the whole family.

A Tribute from Liana as posted on her timeline: "This Pastor had been a part of my life for 46 years.
He baptized me. I remember being 3 or 4 years old and him coming to our Nursery School and sitting down, playing his harpsichord and telling us stories. Singing “This Little Light of Mine” and “Jesus Loves the Little Children”.
Years later, I would memorize verses in his confirmation class, while being a complete teenager and joking, laughing and exchanging notes with my friend, Stacy. It was important to me that my confirmation verse was the 23rd Psalm.
I remember his blue eyes. The way he would cup my hand in his while I talked and I knew he was truly present and listening.
He had a way with stories and words. Listening and cocking his head, pausing before he spoke.
Years later, I chose him to be my Pastor to officiate my wedding - although I was attending another church, he was the Lead Pastor. Telling a story about being a rock for me and Keith to rely on each other. He had just been to Maine on vacation and picked up two stones. One he gave to me, the other to Keith. I still have my rock- Keith’s is still vacationing somewhere in Hawaii where he lost his on our honeymoon. So many people have continued to remember the words and stories he told during our wedding (Paula) He later baptized my oldest niece- yes, that’s me in as a redhead- which completely threw my father for a loop.To me, he never aged- always looking the same, with the warmth in his eyes and his gentle smile.
I know he is singing with the angels now. Rest In Peace- Pastor Arthur Doring"
