Obituary of Herbert F. Schleck
Herbert F. Schleck, of Rockaway Township, passed away Monday March 18th at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's, Dover. He was 92 years old.
Born in Elizabeth on May 14, 1920 to the late Anton and Anna (Engel) Schleck, Herb was a WWII, Army Veteran stationed in France with the Signal Corps. He received certification as an Electrical Engineer from Newark College of Engineering and first worked for Western Electric while residing in Kearny NJ. Herb then went to work for General Electric and lived and worked in Syracuse, NY, Germany, Daytona Beach, FL and Philadelphia, PA. Herb moved to Randolph, NJ after obtaining employment at Picatinny Arsenal where he worked for 40 years and retired in 1984. He has resided in Rockaway Township for the last six years.
Herb was predeceased by five brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Schleck, Alfred Schleck, Arthur Schleck, Eleanor Brennan and Teresa Simmons.
Survivors include wife, Johanna (Beier), son James Herbert, four sisters, Anita Nielson, Mary Lou Babbitt, Constance Stephens and Modesta "Putsy" Cadmus and her husband, Warren, and many nieces and nephews and dear friends, Lou and Carol Berretta.
