Obituary of Rosemarie Duca

Rosemarie Duca, 79, of Sparta, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 3, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Passaic, NJ, on May 1, 1941 to the lateVincent and Fortunata (Bonanno) Duca, Rosemarie resided in Hopatcong from 1972-2013 prior to moving to Sparta and Dingman's Ferry, PA and back to Sparta in 2019. Rosemarie was a trusted Travel agent for many years and owned and operated Emperess Travel in Budd Lake, NJ. Rosemarie's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by their laughter and love. She was known for all of her delicious homemade meals and how they brought everyone together in one place. Survivors include her two children, Vicki McCabe (Tim) and Fred Hemmerich, seven grandchildren Freddy, Shannon, Casey, Joey, Megan, AJ and Vinny, two great grandchildren Jake and Isabella, a brother John Duca (Amy), three nieces Laura, Linda and Stephanie and a nephew Bobby. Also surviving are her ex-husband and friend, Fred Hemmerich whom she was married to for 30 years, her sister in law Mary Jo and brother in law Dennis. She is predeceased by her sister, Josephine Ruocco. Rosemarie's Life Celebration will include visiting on Saturday March 6, 2021 from 9:00AM – 12:00PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at 12:30PM at St. Jude RC Church, 40 maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. Cremation will be private.
